佛周記:講述一個小故事
17th December 2013 Tuesday
There once was a beautiful cat who lived in a high tower near a forest in a magical land far away. Since the cat had never left the tower, she had no idea of the amazing world that was just outside her window.
One day, a traveler came to town. He had no money and decided he should find a place to rob. When he came to the tower where the cat lived, he decided he would break in and steal whatever he could find. Late that night, he climbed up the tower and crawled into the window.
The cat had never seen another living creature, so was surprised. When the thief explained that he was there to rob the place, the cat said, "You are welcome to take anything." The thief looked around at the diamonds, gold, and other jewels that the cat had been surrounded by all these years. His eyes lit up.
While the thief was considering how rich he would be, the cat found the rope and climbed out of the tower, pulling the rope to the window with him. In the end, the cat cried out:
"Since you love the jewels and gold, you can live in my tower, surrounded by them for the rest of your life. You will be happy forever!"
With that the cat disappeared into the forest. The thief was trapped in the tower, surrounded by all the riches he had never wanted.
