This afternoon, the sunlight filtered through the window and spilled onto the ground. I made an appointment with a tea friend to have tea and deliberately invited my father along.
In that serene tea room, the aroma of tea rose gracefully, permeating the air. We sat around the tea table, gently lifted our tea cups, and savored the mellow tea soup. In this warm atmosphere, my father's eyes gradually became soft and profound, as if drawn by the tea aroma back to the distant past.
My father spoke of his childhood memories at Dongchenggen Street Primary School. Those long-buried memories were awakened at this moment. He recounted the scenes of playing and frolicking with his little friends on the school campus, and his face beamed with a long-lost innocent smile.
Watching my father immersed in his memories, I couldn't help but recall the words in the "Heart Sutra": "With no attachments, because of no attachments, there is no terror." Perhaps at this moment, my father forgot the trivial troubles in life, and his heart was filled only with the tranquility and joy brought by that beautiful childhood time.
The wisdom in the "Diamond Sutra" that "All conditioned phenomena are like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, and a shadow. They are like dew and lightning, and should be regarded thus" also made me understand that all kinds of experiences in life, whether joyful or sorrowful, are as short and illusory as passing clouds. But it is precisely these fleeting memories that constitute the most precious wealth in our lives.
At this moment surrounded by the aroma of tea, time seemed to stand still, and only my father's voice echoed in the air. Those childhood stories were like pieces of a puzzle, piecing together my father's youthful years.
The tea friend listened quietly and occasionally shared his similar childhood experiences, making this memory even more colorful. And I, in this warm scene, felt the warmth of family affection and the preciousness of time.
When we left the tea room, the afterglow of the setting sun spilled over us. I knew that this tea time not only retrieved precious memories for my father but also made me cherish every moment spent with my family even more.
In the days to come, no matter how stormy it may be, this family affection that pervades in the tea aroma will always accompany me and become the firmest reliance in my heart.
