This morning, a series of incidents at the workplace plunged me into contemplation.
I arrived at the office early and turned on the large screen, then got busy with my own tasks. Later, when the leader came and noticed a problem with the screen, normally, the leader would call the department director who should inform me to handle it. However, he took the matter into his own hands. Coupled with the last time when installing the system for the new leader, he deliberately said in front of the leader that I didn't install the complete browser. But clearly, I had the leader verify it at that time.
This behavior is truly puzzling and undoubtedly vying for favor in front of the leader. Because of these two incidents, at noon today, I felt a bit tired in my heart, my heart was beating rather fast, and I got a little angry. Suddenly, I felt uncomfortable in my heart. I hurriedly took two quick-acting heart-saving pills and felt better.
Thinking about this, there is inevitably some resentment in my heart. But upon careful reflection, as stated in the "Heart Sutra": "With no attachments, because of no attachments, there is no terror." I should not allow these troublesome matters to occupy my heart for long and let myself sink into the quagmire of negative emotions.
The department director's such actions, to some extent, reflect people's desire for power and recognition in the workplace. However, as mentioned in the "Diamond Sutra": "All conditioned phenomena are like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, and a shadow. They are like dew and lightning, and should be regarded thus." This act of vying for favor seemingly gains temporary attention and benefits, but in the long run, it is nothing but illusory. What truly matters is to win respect and trust with one's own strength and sincere attitude.
In the workplace, we may encounter all kinds of people and events, including fairness and unfairness, understanding and misunderstanding. But we should not lose ourselves and be swayed by the actions of others. We should view these disputes with a peaceful mindset and regard them as opportunities to temper our minds.
Regarding the department director's behavior, perhaps he was blinded by temporary interests and forgot the importance of teamwork. And I should draw lessons from it, adhere to my principles and bottom line. I should not change my integrity and kindness because of others' mistakes, nor respond with the same improper means.
In future work, I will focus more on improving my own ability and prove my value with solid work results. I believe that as long as I uphold a sincere, diligent, and responsible attitude, I will eventually receive due recognition.
May we all keep a clear head in the storms of the workplace, not be deceived by vanity and interests, and face the challenges and opportunities at work with a pure heart.
